The Founder of Virgo is Mrs. Poornima Kumar, who started her entrepreneurial journey in 1993 with the popular Virgo Summer Camps for children, the first of its kind in Chennai, which she conducted sucessfully till 2011. The next year in 1994 she founded the Virgo Fitness & Beauty Centre which she is running till date. Poornima's Virgo Electronic Slimming was also a first of its kind in 1994 which appealed to a lot of celebrities as it gave instant results in weight loss.

To encourage and motivate women to take care of their body and beauty, and to celebrate the anniversaries of Virgo, Mrs. Poornima conducted 5 shows called the ASHOK NAGAR SPECIAL WOMEN from 1995 onwards.
